Mr Jonathan Tow is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to the Republic of Turkey. He presented his credentials on 9 April 2019. Prior to this, he was Director - General of the South Asia and Sub - Saharan Africa Directorate in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2018.

Mr Tow joined the Singapore Civil Service in 1996 and has held research , policy and management appointments in the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2011 to 2014, he was Deputy High Commissioner to India and concurrently Deputy Chief of Mission to Bhutan and Nepal , resident in New Delhi . From 2007 to 2010, he served as First Secretary (Political) at the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations in New York.

Mr Tow graduated from the National University of Singapore with a BA (Hons) in History in 1996. In 2005, he obtained an MA (with honours) i n Security Studies from Georgetown University on a Fulbright Scholarship. He has also attended training programmes at Beijing Language and Culture University in 2006 and Ankara University in 2018 .

Mr Tow was awarded the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM) , or Public Service Medal, in August 2019 .
