Dr. Ahmet Doğanay graduated from the department of Curriculum and Instruction at Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences in 1983. He completed his first master education at the same field at the same university in 1986. Then, he was sent to Long Island University in the USA within the law of 1416 and completed his second master at curriculum and instruction in primary education. For doctoral education, he studied social studies education at Pittsburgh University in 1993.

Dr. Doğanay who has primary school teaching experience for one year started his academic career at Çukurova University Faculty of Education in 1984. After studying abroad, he has continued his job at the same faculty. He has served for several administrative missions such as head of the department, vice-dean, director of the graduate school and senator; and is currently a member of Interuniversity Board and the dean of Çukurova University Faculty of Education.

Dr. Doğanay, has served as a specialist and consultant for several national and international projects such as Preservice Teacher Education Project of Hıgher Education Council and World Bank, Democracy and Human Rights Project of Council of Europe, European Values Education Project, Curriculum Development Project in Primary Education in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. His research interests include social studies education, thinking education and curriculum development; and he is currently editor-in-chief of two scientific citation index journals.
