Dr. Ali Yıldırım is currently a faculty member of department of Pedagogical, Curricular and Professional Studies at Göteborg University, Sweden. He has served as professor of Curriculum and Instruction at Middle East Technical University from 1993 to 2018. His research interests include curriculum development, teacher education, thinking and learning processes, social studies education and evaluation. He served as educational consultant to large-scale research projects financed by Ministry of National Education (such as parenting education, SBS, vocational edudation, etc.) and several educational projects financed by World Bank (such as National Education Development Project, Industrial Schools Project, Preservice Teacher Education Project, etc.). Dr. Yıldırım also served as coordinator and researcher to EU projects about active citizenship education, lifelong learning, climate-friendly schools, learning networks, evaluation of nonformal learning outcomes. In addition, he participated in Ministry of National Education and Council of Higher Education leaded commissions about accreditation, faculty-school membership, teacher qualities, teacher education and teaching certificate; and contributed to several reports and programmes. His published books and articles focus on teacher education, curriculum development, evaluation, teaching processes, social studies education and qualitative research.
