Dr. Kıymet Selvi graduated from the department of Curriculum and Instruction at Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences in 1980. In 1996, she completed her graduate education at the same department. She also completed her second master at Computer Programming and Systems Analyst Education from 1985 to 1987.

Dr. Selvi started her career at Financial Office in Ankara and worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst at the Ministry of Finance for ten years. Then, she continued her professional life as a faculty member of the department of Educational Sciences at Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Arts and Sciences from 1994-1997. From 1997 to 2003, she served as Assistant Professor at Anadolu University Faculty of Communication Sciences. In 2003, she was tenured at Anadolu University Faculty of Education and received her title as Professor there. Then, she retired voluntarily on 16 March 2018 and founded an institution called “Kıymet Selvi Educational Assistance and Counselling” in 2019.

Dr. Selvi received thirteen awards and incentive for her academic studies and served as a coordinator, expert and researcher for ten projects. She has forty three articles, fifty three paper presented in national and international congress, sixteen chapters written in Turkish and English, six book that she wrote and edited, and she is chief editor in an international journal. In addition, she is member of five professional non-governmental organizations and vice chairman of Turkish Association of Curriculum and Instruction. Having certificates of qualification in twenty different subjects, Dr. Selvi served as educational counsellor and producer at TRT 2; and conducted several seminars to schools. Her research interests are curriculum and instruction, e-learning, distance education, autonomous learning, human rights and democracy education, phenomenological philosophy, phenomenological pedagogy and educational philosophy.
